Equal and an Opposite proverb

Every Action has an equal and an opposite reaction? Similarly, every proverb has an equal and an opposite proverb! There always exist two sides of the same coin! You be the better judge...

All good things come to those who wait. BUT
Time and tide wait for no man.

The pen is mightier than the sword. BUT
Actions speak louder than words.

Wise men think alike.BUT
Fools seldom differ.

The best things in life are free. BUT
There's no such thing as a free (best) lunch.

Slow and steady wins the race. BUT
Time waits for no man.

Look before you leap. BUT
Strike while the iron is hot.

Do it well, or not at all. BUT
Half a loaf is better than none.

Birds of a feather flock together. BUT
Opposites attract.

Don't cross your bridges before you come to them. BUT
Forewarned is forearmed.

Doubt is the beginning of wisdom. BUT
Faith will move mountains.

Great starts make great finishes. BUT
It ain't over 'till it's over.

Practice makes perfect. BUT
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Silence is golden. BUT
The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

You're never too old to learn. BUT
You can't teach an old dog new tricks

What's good for the goose is good for the gander. BUT
One man's meat is another man's poison.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder. BUT
Out of sight, out of mind.

Too many cooks spoil the broth. BUT
Many hands make light work.

Hold fast to the words of your ancestors. BUT
Wise men make proverbs and fools repeat them.

Video of the Day - Rubber Girl

Emergency Doctor

A man accompanied with his 5yrs old son to a restaurant to have a business meeting with his colleague.

He gives the young boy three 5 rupee coins to play with to keep him occupied. Suddenly, the boy starts choking and going blue in the face. The father realizes the boy has swallowed the coins and starts slapping him on the back. The boy coughs up 2 of the coins but is still choking. Looking at his son, the father is panicking, shouting for help. A well dressed, attractive, and serious looking woman, in a blue business suit is sitting at a coffee bar reading a newspaper and sipping a cup of coffee.

At the sound of the commotion, she looks up, puts her coffee cup down, neatly folds the newspaper, places it on the counter, gets up from her seat and makes her way, unhurried, across the restaurant. Reaching the boy, the woman carefully pulls down his pants; takes hold of the boy's' testicles and starts to squeeze and twist, gently at first and then ever so firmly.. tighter and tighter!!!* After a few seconds the boy convulses violently and coughs up the last of the coins, which the woman deftly catches in her free hand. Releasing the boy's testicles, the woman hands the coin to the father and walks back to her seat at the coffee bar without saying a word.

As soon as he is sure that his son has suffered no ill effects, the father rushes over to the woman and starts thanking her saying, 'I've never seen anybody do anything like that before, it was fantastic. Are you a doctor?'

'No', the woman replied, 'I'm with a Bank - Loan Recovery Department.

Story of Regret

There was this guy who believed very much in true love and decided to take his time to wait for his right girl to appear. He believed that there would definitely be someone special out there for him, but none came. Every year at Christmas, his ex-girlfriend would return from Vancouver to look him up. He was aware that she still held some hope of re-kindling the past romance with him. He did not wish to mislead her in any way. So he would always get one of his girl friends to pose as his steady whenever she came back. That went on for several years and each year, the guy would get a different girl to pose as his romantic interest.

So whenever the ex-girlfriend came to visit him, she would be led into believing that it was all over between her and the guy. The girl took all those rather well, often trying to casually tease him about his different girlfriends, or so, as it seemed! In fact, the girl often wept in secret whenever she saw him with another girl, but she was too proud to admit it. Still, every Christmas, she returned, hoping to re-kindle some form of romance. But each time, she returned to Vancouver feeling disappointed.

Finally she decided that she could not play that game any longer. Therefore, she confronted him and professed that after all those years, he was still the only man that she had ever loved. Although the guy knew of her feelings for him, he was still taken back and have never expected her to react that way. He always thought that she would slowly forget about him over time and come to terms that it was all over between them. Although he was touched by her undying love for him and wanted so much to accept her again, he remembered why he rejected her in the first place-she was not the one he wanted. So he hardened his heart and turned her down cruelly. Since then, three years have passed and the girl never return anymore. They never even wrote to each other. The guy went on with his life… still searching for the one but somehow deep inside him, he missed the girl.

On the Christmas of 1995, he went to his friend’s party alone. “Hey, how come all alone this year? Where are all your girlfriends? What happened to that Vancouver babe who joins you every Christmas?”, asked one of his friend. He felt warm and comforted by his friend’s queries about her, still he just surged on.
Then, he came upon one of his many girlfriends whom he once requested to pose as his steady. He wanted so much to ignore her ….. not that he was impolite, but because at that moment, he just didn’t feel comfortable with those girlfriends anymore. It was almost like he was being judged by them. The girl saw him and shouted across the floor for him. Unable to avoid her, he went up to acknowledge her.
“Hi… how are you? Enjoying the party?” the girl asked.
“Sure… yeah!”, he replied.

She was slightly tipsy… must be from the whiskey on her hand. She continued, “Why…? Don’t you need someone to pose as your girlfriend this year?” Then he answered, “No, there is no need for that anymore…”
Before he can continue, he was interrupted, “Oh yes! Must have found a girlfriend! You haven’t been searching for one for the past years, right?” The man looked up, as if he has struck gold, his face beamed and looked directly at the drunken girl. He replied, “Yes… you are right! I haven’t been looking for anyone for the past years.”

With that, the man darted across the floor and out the door, leaving the lady in much bewilderment. He finally realized that he has already found his dream girl, and she was… the Vancouver girl all along! The drunken lady has said something that awoken him.

All along he has found his girl. That was why he did not bother to look further when he realized she was not coming back. It was not any specific girl he was seeking! It was perfection that he wanted, and yes… perfection! Relationship is something both parties should work on. Realizing that he had let away someone so important in his life, he decided to call her immediately. His whole mind was flooded with fear. He was afraid that she might have found someone new or no longer had the same feelings anymore… For once, he felt the fear of losing someone.
As it was Christmas eve, the line was quite hard to get through, especially an overseas call. He tried again and again, never giving up. Finally, he got through…. precisely at 1200 midnight. He confessed his love for her and the girl was moved to tears. It seemed that she never got over him! Even after so long, she was still waiting for him, never giving up.

He was so excited to meet her and to begin his new chapter of their lives. He decided to fly to Vancouver to join her. It was the happiest time of their lives! But their happy time was short-lived. Two days before he was supposed to fly to Vancouver, he received a call from her father. She had a head-on car collision with a drunken driver. She passed away after 6 hours in a coma.

The guy was devastated, as it was a complete loss. Why did fate played such cruel games with him? He cursed the heaven for taking her away from him, denying even one last look at her! How cruel he cursed! How he damned the Gods…!! How he hated himself… for taking so long to realize his mistake!! That was in 1996.

Moral: Treasure what you have… Time is too slow for those who wait, Too swift for those who fear, Too long for those who grief, Too short for those who rejoice, But for those who love… Time is Eternity. For all you out there with someone special in your heart, cherish that person, cherish every moment that you spend together that special someone, for in life, anything can happen anytime. You may painfully regret, only to realize that it is too late.

The Last Class Of College..

I walked with my best friends across the campus……… towards my class… my final year engineering class. The hour hand at the watch said … it was ten minutes past 5…. and there was not even a single trace of any life in the college…….. except for we three…. me and my best pals ………..

Another ten steps.. and there was our class with the doors shut… !!! we were on the third floor… and the sun setting down in the valley with its orange rays was creating a magical scene. Had a wish that the time stops at that very moment… but it never happens… the seconds hand ticked heavily….. and we opened the doors of the class for one last time……………….

Wished i cud ask my teacher…”may i come in…. ” and wanted to hear her shout…. “You late again… no attendance…”
but there was no one there… just empty desks.. and we three…. looking at the walls…. and the desks.. all empty… with quotes we wrote … and the raised platform .. where the torture classes were held… and the last benches.. where we had fun…. laughed …. kicked out…. hiding from the teachers… pleading for attendence………… million memories rolled like a muvee into our minds… and there was complete silence for a moment.. and we smiled … laughed!!!!!

Walked like heros from the medivial times..fought like the enemies over discussions of Arsenal and Manchester United.. jumped over the benches… had a look at the bench .. where the so called babes of our class used to sit…. hehehe… babes in my engineering college…. a dream in itself… (no offenses to any babes)… ..

drifted to our place… … sat there….. side seats…
dint feel like the last day …. dont remember how we met …. how we came to such a stage… feels like i know my friends from ages… feel like as if i was born in this college….. feel like i was always here…

The entire class was still there alive…. the last benchers sleeping………. the gals chatting amongst themselves……….. the teacher in her own world…… Ajay sitting besides me …. cribbing about something …. prasan sitting on first bench taking down notes…. and Vaibhav smiling at the babes…. Tushar … trying talking to the gals… and we laughing about something of the other….. me occasionally scribbling something on my notepad………… making some sketches.. or bullshit poetry …………

Ahh.. Snehal asking me to look outside… for some babes from C.Tech … standing there……. and i without even a word…looked outside.. it was an unsaid communication…. Sameer pinged me… and i, with the same enthu… looked outside… but today there wasnt anybody there……………. just the deserted corridor………. and i cud see the mechanical department at the end… no one there………………

looked back….. but there was Vikram .. in his dream world…. not scribbling anything in his notebook… not laughing this time…. not sayin anything this time……….. just sitting there.. and there was Sunny… and there was me …..

“roll number 25………. “
“roll number 25………… Abhishek…. u sleeping again…….. “
“Ok fine…………. roll number 26″
“………………….. hey .. present ma’m………… “
“you sleep dear…!!! no attendence for you……………..”

No attendence…. the class has ended… and my friends… chatting and laughing …. going for a chai… aur a samossa….. aur a lemon juice…

and we sat there ….. sat there all alone ……… closed our eyes, for the entire world outside the walls of the campus was calling us…………..

Wanted to attend one last lecture…….. but this time there was no one to take that last lecture…………..

and there was that door… open… and we wished all the time .. to run away …. to bunk.. but this time it wasnt….. one last time…. one last time………… attended the class…. with no one.. just we three…

Tell ur loved ones that you love them before its too late!

Two butterflies were in love………One day, they decided to play Hide n Seek…….

During the play…..
Boy Butterfly – “A small game within us”
Girl Butterfly – “OK”
Boy Butterfly – “The one who sits in this flower
tomorrow early in the morning is the one who loves
the other one more…..”
Girl Butterfly – “OK”

Next morning, the boy butterfly waits for the flower to open so that he can sit before the girl butterfly does……

Finally, the flower opened…..

What did he see…..?????……..

The girl butterfly had died inside the flower…..

She stayed there all night……so that early in the morning……as soon as she sees him…….she can fly to him and tell him how much she loved him……..

ATTITUDE

1) Heavy rains remind us of challenges in life. Never ask for a lighter rain. Just pray for a better umbrella. That is attitude.

2) When flood comes, fish eat ants & when flood recedes, ants eat fish. Only time matters. Just hold on, God gives opportunity to everyone!

3) Some people always throw stones in your path. It depends on you what you make with them,Wall or Bridge? Remember you are the architect of your life.

4) Every problem has (n+1) solutions, where n is the number of solutions that you have tried and 1 is that you have not tried. That’s life.

5) It’s not important to hold all the good cards in life. But it’s important how well you play with the cards which you hold.

6) Often when we lose all hope & think this is the end, God smiles from above and
says, `relax dear its just a bend. Not the end. Have Faith and have a successful life.

7) When you feel sad, to cheer up just go to the mirror and say, `Damn I am really so cute`and you will overcome your sadness. But don’t make this a habit coz liars go
to hell.

8) One of the basic differences between God and human is, God gives, gives and forgives. But human gets, gets, gets and forgets. Be thankful in life!

The carrot, the egg, and the coffee bean

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling.

It seemed that, as one problem was solved, a new one arose. Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to a boil. In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans.

She let them sit and boil, without saying a word. In about twenty minutes, she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me, what do you see?"

"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," the young woman replied. The mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. She then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?"

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity - boiling water - but each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak.

The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened! The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

"Which are you?" the mother asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?" Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong but, with pain and adversity, do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength? Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit but, after a death, a breakup, or a financial hardship, does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart? Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor.

If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hours are the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?

Peace of mind

Once Buddha was walking from one town to another town with a few of his followers. This was in the initial days. While they were travelling, they happened to pass a lake. They stopped there and Buddha told one of his disciples, “I am thirsty. Do get me some water from that lake there.”

The disciple walked up to the lake. When he reached it, he noticed that some people were washing clothes in the water and, right at that moment, a bullock cart started crossing through the lake. As a result, the water became very muddy, very turbid. The disciple thought, “How can I give this muddy water to Buddha to drink!” So he came back and told Buddha, “The water in there is very muddy. I don’t think it is fit to drink.”

After about half an hour, again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back to the lake and get him some water to drink. The disciple obediently went back to the lake. This time he found that the lake had absolutely clear water in it. The mud had settled down and the water above it looked fit to be had. So he collected some water in a pot and brought it to Buddha.

Buddha looked at the water, and then he looked up at the disciple and said, “See what you did to make the water clean. You let it be ... and the mud settled down on its own – and you got clear water... Your mind is also like that. When it is disturbed, just let it be. Give it a little time. It will settle down on its own. You don’t have to put in any effort to calm it down. It will happen. It is effortless.”

What did Buddha emphasize here? He said, “It is effortless.” Having 'peace of mind' is not a strenuous job; it is an effortless process. When there is peace inside you, that peace permeates to the outside. It spreads around you and in the environment, such that people around start feeling that peace and grace.

A TOUCHING MORAL

A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to come and play around it everyday. He climbed to the tree-top, ate the apples, took a nap under the shadow...He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him. Time went by... the little boy had grown up and he no longer played around the tree every day. One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad.

"Come and play with me," the tree asked the boy. "I am no longer a kid, I don't play around trees anymore." The boy replied, "I want toys. I need money to buy them." "Sorry, but I don't have money... but you can pick all my apples and sell them. So, you will have money." The boy was so excited. He grabbed all the apples on the tree and left happily. The boy never came back after he picked the apples. The tree was sad. One day, the boy returned and the tree was so excited.

"Come and play with me" the tree said. "I don't have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?" "Sorry, but I don't have a house. But you can chop off my branches to build your house." So the boy cut all the branches of the tree and left happily. The tree was glad to see him happy but the boy never came back since then. The tree was again lonely and sad.

One hot summer day, the boy returned and the tree was delighted. "Come and play with me!" the tree said. "I am sad and getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?" "Use my truck to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy." So the boy cut the tree trunk to make a boat. He went sailing and never showed up for a long time.

Finally, the boy returned after he left for so many years. "Sorry, my boy. But I don't have anything for you any more. "No more apples for you... "the tree said. "I don't have teeth to bite" the boy replied. "No more truck for you to climb on" "I am too old for that now" the boy said. "I really can't give you anything ... the only thing left is my dying roots" the tree said with tears. "I don't need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years." The boy replied. "Good! Old tree roots is the best place to lean on and rest. Come, Come sit down with me and rest." The boy sat down and the tree was glad and smiled with tears.......

This is a story of everyone. The tree is our parent. When we were young, we loved to play with Mom and Dad...When we grown up, we left them... only came to them when we need something or when we are in trouble. No matter what, parents will always be there and give everything they could to make you happy. You may think the boy is cruel to the tree but that's how all of us are treating our parent.

SOLDIER

A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Vietnam. He called his parents from San Francisco. Mom and Dad, I m coming home, but I’ve a favour to ask. I have a friend I’d like to bring home with me. Sure, they replied, wed love to meet him.

There’s something you should know the son continued, he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mine and lost an arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come and live with us.

I m sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live. No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us. Son, said the father, you don’t know what you’re asking. Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we can’t let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He’ll find a way to live on his own.

At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing more from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from the San Francisco police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they were told. The police believed it was suicide. The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. They recognised him, but to their horror they also discovered something they didn’t know, their son had only one arm and one leg.

The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don’t like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We would rather stay away from people who aren’t as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are.

Thankfully, there’s someone who won’t treat us that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are.

Tonight, before you tuck yourself in for the night, say a little prayer that God will give you the strength you need to accept people as they are, and to help us all be more understanding of those who are different from us !!!

Every little hello, every little smile, every helping hand saves a hurting heart. Pass it on. With this, also comes the token that says that YOU are special. There’s a miracle called Friendship that dwells in the heart. You don’t know how it happens or when it gets started but, you know the special lift it always brings and you realise that Friendship is God’s most precious gift!

LIVING HAPPILY

A man and his girlfriend were married. It was a large celebration. All of their friends and family came to see the lovely ceremony and to partake of the festivities and celebrations. A wonderful time was had by all.

The bride was gorgeous in her white wedding gown and the groom was very dashing in his black tuxedo. Everyone could tell that the love they had for each other was true.

A few months later, the wife comes to the husband with a proposal: “I read in a magazine, a while ago, about how we can strengthen our marriage.” she offered.

“Each of us will write a list of the things that we find a bit annoying with the other person. Then, we can talk about how we can fix them together and make our lives happier together.”

The husband agreed. So each of them went to a separate room in the house and thought of the things that annoyed them about the other. They thought about this question for the rest of the day and wrote down what they came up with.

The next morning, at the breakfast table, they decided that they would go over their lists.

“I’ll start,” offered the wife. She took out her list. It had many items on it. Enough to fill 3 pages, in fact. As she started reading the list of the little annoyances, she noticed that tears were starting to appear in her husbands eyes.

“What’s wrong?” she asked. “Nothing” the husband replied, “keep reading your list.”

The wife continued to read until she had read all three pages to her husband. She neatly placed her list on the table and folded her hands over top of it.

“Now, you read your list and then we’ll talk about the things on both of our lists.” She said happily.

Quietly the husband stated, “I don’t have anything on my list. I think that you are perfect the way that you are. I don’t want you to change anything for me. You are lovely and wonderful and I wouldn’t want to try and change anything about you.”

The wife, touched by his honesty and the depth of his love for her and his acceptance of her, turned her head and wept.

IN LIFE, there are enough times when we are disappointed, depressed and annoyed. We don’t really have to go looking for them.We have a wonderful world that is full of beuty, light and promise.

Why waste time in this world looking for the bad, disappointing or annoying things when we can look around us, and see the wondrous things before us? I believe that WE ARE HAPPIEST WHEN we see and praise the good and try our best to forego the mistakes of our spouse Nobody’s perfect but we can find perfection in them to change the way we see them. It is necessary to understand the difficulties and be a helping hand to each other….THAT BRIGHTENS THE RELATIONSHIP.

The Carpenter's House

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended  family.

He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by.The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor.  The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and  used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end his career.

When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came to  inspect the house, the contractor handed the front-door key to the carpenter. "This is your house," he said, "my gift to you."

What a shock! What a shame! If he had only known he was  building his own house, he would have done it all so differently. Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well.

So it is with us. We build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting, willing to put up less than the best. At important points we do not give the job our best effort. Then with a shock we look at the situation we have created and find that we are now living in the house we have built. If we had  realized that we would have done it differently.

Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house. Each  day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Build wisely. It is the only life you will ever build. Even if you live it for only one day more, that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity. The plaque on the wall says, "Life is a do-it-yourself project." Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make today.

once a man and woman

There was once a man and woman who had been married for more than 60 years. They had shared everything. They had talked about everything. They had kept no secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoe box in the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about. For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would not recover. In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the shoe box and took it to his wife's bedside. She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box. When he opened it, he found two crocheted doilies and a stack of money totaling $25,000. He asked her about the contents. "When we were to be married," she said, "My grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doily." The little old man was so moved, he had to fight back tears. Only two precious doilies were in the box. She had only been angry with him two times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with happiness. "Honey," he said, "that explains the doilies, but what about all of this money? Where did it come from?" "Oh," she said, "that's the money I made from selling the doilies."

The Burnt Biscuits

When I was a kid, my mom would prepare special breakfast every now and then. And I remember one night in particular, after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he said: Honey, I love burned biscuits.

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned.

He wrapped me in his arms and said, Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone! You know, life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else.

What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each other’s faults - and choosing to celebrate each other’s differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.

And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!

We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship!

Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket - keep it in your own.

God Bless You..... now, and always....

Try To Believe In Yourself

A man went in a search of truth. A first religious man he met was sitting under tree, just out side his own village.

He asked, " i am searching for true master. pl tell me the characteristics,
His description was very simple. He said,
" you find him sitting under such and such tree, sitting in such and such posture, his hand making such and such gestures- that is enough to know he is the true master,

The seeker started searching, It is said that thirty years passed while he wandered the whole earth. He visited many places but never met the master,

He met many master but none were true master. He return to his own village completely exhausted,.

As he was returning he was surprised, he could not believe it, that old man was seated under the same tree, and how he could see that this was the very that the old man had spoken of
"...... he will be sitting under such and such tree ....." and his posture was exactly as he had described. "It was the same posture he was sitting in thirty years ago-
was i blind ?
That exact expression on his face, The exact gestures.

He felt at his feet saying
" why didn't you tell me in that first place ?
why did you misdirect me for these thirty years ?
why didn't you tell me that you are the true master ?"
The old man said,I told you, but you were not ready to listen.

You were not ready to come home without wandering away, you had to knock on the doors of a thousand houses to come
to your own home, only then could you return, i said it every thing- beneath such and such tree.
I was describing this very tree, the posture i was sitting in, but you were too fast, you couldn't hear correctly, you were in hurry.

you were going some where to search. searching
was very important for you. the truth was not so important.
" But you have come! I was feeling tired, sitting continuously in this posture for you.

you were wandering for thirty years, but think of me sitting under this tree , I know some day you would come, but what if i had already passed away ? I waited for you, you have come , you had to wander for thirty years, but that's your own faults, the master was already here.

" It happens many times in our life that we cannot see what is near & inside us, and what attract us, is the distant drum which sound sweeter, we are pulled by distant dreams.

Try to believe in yourself and try to see inside, you will not believe you will find a Master within you.

Releasing The Cows

One day the Buddha was sitting in the wood with thirty or forty monks. They had an excellent lunch and they were enjoying the company of each other. There was a farmer passing by and the farmer was very unhappy. He asked the Buddha and the monks whether they had seen his cows passing by. The Buddha said they had not seen any cows passing by.

The farmer said, "Monks, I'm so unhappy. I have twelve cows and I don't know why they all ran away. I have also a few acres of a sesame seed plantation and the insects have eaten up everything. I suffer so much I think I am going to kill myself.

The Buddha said, "My friend, we have not seen any cows passing by here. You might like to look for them in the other direction."

So the farmer thanked him and ran away, and the Buddha turned to his monks and said, "My dear friends, you are the happiest people in the world. You don't have any cows to lose. If you have too many cows to take care of, you will be very busy.

"That is why, in order to be happy, you have to learn the art of cow releasing (laughter). You release the cows one by one. In the beginning you thought that those cows were essential to your happiness, and you tried to get more and more cows. But now you realize that cows are not really conditions for your happiness; they constitute an obstacle for your happiness.

That is why you are determined to release your cows."

Sprit Of Team Work

It was a sports stadium. Eight Children were standing on the track to participate in a running event.
* Ready! * Steady! * Bang
With the sound of the Toy pistol, all eight girls started running. They had hardly covered ten to fifteen steps, one of the smaller girls slipped and fell down, due to bruises and pain she started crying.  When the other seven girls heard this sound, they stopped running, stood for a while and turned back, they all ran back to the place where the girl fell down. One among them bent down, picked and kissed the girl  gently and enquired 'Now pain must have reduced' . All seven girls lifted the fallen girl, pacified her, two of them held the girl firmly and then all seven joined hands together and walked together and reached the winning  post.

Officials were shocked. Clapping of thousands of spectators filled the stadium. Many eyes were filled with tears and perhaps it had reached the GOD even! YES. This happened in Hyderabad [INDIA], recently!  The sports event was conducted by National Institute of Mental Health. All these special girls had come to participate in this event and they are
spastic children. Yes, they were mentally retarded Challenged.
What did they teach this world?
Teamwork? Humanity? Equality among all ?
Successful people help others who are slow in learning so that they are not left far behind. This is really a great message...  spread it!

We can't do this ever because we have brains!

The Professor & The Youngman

A young man, a student in one of the universities, was one day taking a walk with a professor, who was commonly called the students' friend for his kindness to those who waited on his instructions.

As they went along, they saw lying in the path a pair of old shoes, which were supposed to belong to a poor man who was working in a field close by, and who had nearly finished his day's work . . .

Student turned to the professor, saying: "Let us play the man a trick:
we will hide his shoes, and hide ourselves behind those bushes, and wait to see his perplexity when he cannot find them ..."

"My young friend," answered the professor, "We should never amuse ourselves at the expense of the poor . . . But you are rich, and may give yourself a much greater pleasure by means of this poor man.Put a coin in each shoe, and then we will hide ourselves and watch how this affects him."

The student did so and they both placed themselves behind the bushes close by. The poor man soon finished his work, and came across the field to the path where he had left his coat and shoes . . .While putting on his coat he slipped his foot into one of his shoes, but feeling something hard, he stooped down to feel what it was, and found the coin. Astonishment and wonder were seen upon his countenance.

He gazed upon the coin, turned it around and looked at it again and again.
He then looked around him on all sides, but no person was to be seen. He now put the money into his pocket, and proceeded to put on the other shoe; but his surprise was doubled on finding the other coin . . .

His feelings overcame him . . . he fell upon his knees, looked up to heaven and uttered aloud a fervent thanksgiving in which he spoke of his wife, sick and helpless, and his children without bread, whom this timely bounty, from some unknown hand, would save from perishing . . .

The student stood there deeply affected, and his eyes filled with tears.
"Now," said the professor, are you not much better pleased than if you had played your intended trick?"
The youth replied, "You have taught me a lesson which I will never forget. .. I feel now the truth of these words, which I never understood before:

"It's more blessed to give than to receive."
If you want happiness... .For a lifetime - help someone .

Just a Little Smile

Mark was walking home from school one day when he noticed the boy ahead of him had tripped and dropped all of the books he was carrying, along with two sweaters, a baseball bat, a glove and a small tape recorder. Mark knelt down and helped the boy pick up the scattered articles.Since they were going the same way, he helped to carry part of the burden. As they walked Mark discovered the boy's name was Bill, that he loved video games, baseball and history, and that he was having lots of trouble with his other subjects and that he had just broken up with his girlfriend.

They arrived at Bill's home first and Mark was invited in for a Coke and to watch some television. The afternoon passed pleasantly with a few laughs and some shared small talk, then Mark went home. They continued to see each other around school, had lunch together once or twice, and then both graduated from junior high school. They ended up in the same high school where they had brief contacts over the years. Finally the long awaited senior year came and three weeks before graduation, Bill asked Mark if they could talk. Bill reminded him of the day years ago when they had first met.

Did you ever wonder why I was carrying so many things home that day? asked Bill. You see, I cleaned out my locker because I didn't want to leave a mess for anyone else. I had stored away some of my mother's sleeping pills and I was going home to commit suicide. But after we spent some time together talking and laughing, I realized that if I had killed myself, I would have missed that time and so many others that might follow. So you see, Mark, when you picked up those books that day, you did a lot more. You saved my life

DONT MISS A DATE WITH YOUR MOTHER

After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie. She said I love you but I know this other woman loves you and would love to spend some time with you.

The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my three children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally.

That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie.

"What's wrong, are you well," she asked?

"I thought that it would be pleasant to be with you," I responded. "Just the two of us."

She thought about it for a moment, and then said, "I would like that very much."

That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be nervous about our date. She waited in the door with her coat on. She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last wedding anniversary.

She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an angel's.

"I told my friends that I was going to go out with my son, and they were impressed, "she said, as she got into the car. They can't wait to hearabout our meeting". We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy. My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady. After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Half way through the entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips "It was I who used to have to read the menu when you were small," she said.

"Then it's time that you relax and let me return the favor," I responded.

During the dinner, we had an agreeable conversation - nothing extraordinary, but catching up on recent events of each other's life. We talked so much that we missed the movie.

As we arrived at her house later, she said, "I'll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you." I agreed.

"How was your dinner date?" asked my wife when I got home. "Very nice. Much more so than I could have imagined," I answered.

A few days later, my mother died. It happened so suddenly that I did not get to do anything for her.

Some time later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place where mother and I had dined.

An attached note said: "I paid this bill in advance. I wasn't sure that I could be there; but nevertheless, I paid for two plates - one for you and the other for your wife. You will never know what that night meant for me. I love you, son."

At that moment, I understood the importance of saying in time: "I LOVE YOU!" and to give our loved ones the time that they deserve. Nothing in life is more important than your family.

Give them the time they deserve, because these things cannot be put off till "some other time."

My Time's UP?

A 54 year old woman had a heart attack and was taken to   the  hospital.  While on the operating table she had a near death  experience.

Seeing God she asked "Is my time up?"

God  said, "No, you have another 43 years, 2 months and   8 days to live ."

Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a face-lift, liposuction and a tummy tuck.     She even had someone come in and change her hair colour and brighten her teeth!

Since she had  so much more time to live, she figured she might as well make the most of it.   After her last operation, she was released from the hospital.

While crossing the street on her way home, she was killed by  an ambulance.

Arriving  in front of God, she demanded,
"I thought you said I had another 43 years.
Why  didn't you pull me from  out of the path of the  ambulance?"

(You'll love this)
God replied:
"I didn't recognize you!"

Senior story

A senior citizen drove his brand new BMW Z4 convertible out of the car salesroom. Taking off down the motorway, he floored it to 100mph, enjoying the wind blowing through what little hair he had left.

"Amazing!" he thought as he flew down the M1, enjoying pushing the pedal to the metal even more.  Looking in his rear view mirror, he saw a police car behind him, blue lights flashing and siren blaring. "I can get away from him - no problem!" thought the elderly nutcase as he floored it to 120 mph, then 140 then 160 mph. Suddenly, he thought, "What on earth am I doing? I'm too old for this nonsense!"  So he pulled over to the side of the road and waited for the police car to catch up with him. Pulling in behind him, the police officer walked up to the driver's side of the BMW, looked at his watch and said, "Sir, my shift ends in 10 minutes. Today is Friday and I'm taking off for the weekend. If you can give me a reason why you were speeding that I've never heard before,
I'll let you go.."

The old man, looked very seriously at the policeman, and replied, "Years ago, my wife ran off with a policeman. I thought you were bringing her back." "Have a good day, Sir", said the policeman.

Motivational Thoughts
1) Happiness does not come when we have everything in life but it comes when we learn to live with anything which life provides to us.

2) It is not very difficult to have an interesting life; we can have it if we only dare to think out of our conventional lines.

3) There are only few true people in any personl life and rest are just part of a big crowd.

4) Emotions are great instruments available in our hands to tell what is going on in our mind.

5) Madness sometimes helps us to explore new horizons of life which otherwise we can never find.

6) I am happy because I want to be happy and I am sad because I want to be sad, it is as simple as it looks.

7) Happiness comes from within only and no one in this world can offer it, unless we first find it within.

8) It is important to first search deep within then to look for remaining things in outer world.

9) We become strong with surrender and not with achievements.

RECIPE FOR LIFE SITUATIONS

A woman goes to the doctor, beaten black and Blue.

Doctor: "What happened?"

Woman: "Doctor, I don't know what to do. Every time my husband comes home drunk he beats me to a pulp."

Doctor: "I have a real good medicine for that. When your husband comes home drunk, Just take a glass of sweet tea and start swishing it in your mouth. Just swish and swish but don't swallow until he goes to bed and is asleep."

Two weeks later the woman comes back to the doctor looking fresh and reborn.

Woman: "Doctor that was a brilliant idea! Every time my husband came home drunk, I swished with sweet tea. I swished and swished, and he didn't touch me!"

Doctor: "You see how much keeping your mouth shut helps?"

A cold winter!

It was autumn, and the Red Indians asked their New Chief if the winter was going to be cold or mild.

Since he was a Red Indian chief in a modern society, he couldn't tell what the weather was going to be.

Nevertheless, to be on the safe side, he replied to his Tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that the members of the village should collect wood to be prepared.

But also being a practical leader, after several days he got an idea.  He went to the phone booth, called the National Weather Service and asked 'Is the coming winter going to be cold?'

'It looks like this winter is going to be quite cold indeed,' the weather man responded.

So the Chief went back to his people and told them to collect even more  wood. A week later, he called the National Weather Service again. 'Is it going to be a very cold winter?'
'Yes,' the man at National Weather Service again replied, 'It's definitely going to be a very cold winter.'

The Chief again went back to his people and ordered them to collect every scrap of wood they could find.

Two weeks later, he called the National Weather Service again.
'Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold?'
'Absolutely,' The man replied. 'It's going to be one of the coldest winters ever.'

'How can you be so sure?' the Chief asked.
The weatherman replied, 'The Red Indians are collecting wood like crazy.'
