The monkey would naturally reach into the jar to retrieve the tasty treat. But the jar's small neck proved to be an unforeseen difficulty. The monkey's hand would not come out of its clenched fist, no matter how hard it pulled.
The monkey would struggle for hours on end, not wanting to let go of the prize. The hunters, watching from a distance, would take advantage of the situation and move in to catch the determined animal.
The father looked at his child deeply and said, "My dear, learn from the monkey. There are moments in life when clinging to things firmly can bring us to ruin. The secret to personal development is knowing when to give up, when to move on, and when to let go."
Moral
Accept that sometimes letting go of what you value most can lead to something much more worthwhile later on. You should never allow stubbornness to stand in the way of your progress and development.
